The ngRadar Science Advisory Council (SAC)
Community support to the ngRadar project is established through the Science Advisory Council.
SAC Overview
The Science Advisory Council provides an interface between the scientific community and NRAO, providing feedback and guidance directly to the ngRadar Project Office on issues that affect the scientific design and potential use cases. The SAC was selected to cover broad range of expertise relevant to planetary science, planetary defense, space situational awareness, use-case scenarios, and data analysis.
SAC Membership
The ngRadar Team is requesting participation from the science and technical communities of astronomy, planetary science, and engineering via membership of the ngRadar SAC. The SAC is chaired by Dr. Paul Abell of NASA Johnson Space Center and has received detailed input from a range of subject-matter experts, including those in small bodies, planetary surfaces/interiors, and orbital debris.

The ngRadar team has also received helpful feedback from the community, including (but certainly not limited to) Alyssa Manis (NASA JSC), Catherine Neish (Western University), Jason Hofgartner (SwRI), and Elizabeth Palmer (Northrup Grumman), as well as the Goldstone Solar System Radar team, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Mini-RF instrument science team, and the community-driven (and now community-led) Small Bodies Assessment Group!
